Beyond the Surface – Scuba & Ocean Experience in Thailand

Dive into a new level of experience.
Students will earn their PADI scuba certification while exploring world-class reefs and learning how to protect them through real ocean conservation work, from coral restoration to marine life monitoring.
From kayaking through mangroves and climbing coastal cliffs to cooking with local families and exploring Thai culture, every moment is designed to push students outside their comfort zone and into growth.
Requirements:
Must be enrolled in high school.
Attend at least two travel sessions.
Must know how to swim or will take swim lessons before the trip at a certified swim school. Please reach out if you need resources for swimming lessons.
Participate in fundraising. We will provide the tools and support.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival + Welcome to Thailand 🇹🇭
Arrive in Thailand and meet your guides and group at the airport. From there, we’ll head to our accommodations to get settled, meet everyone, and kick things off with our first dinner together.
Day 2 – Explore + Culture Day
Start the day with orientation and an overview of the experience. Then head out for a scenic kayak adventure through beautiful mangroves and clear waters.
In the evening, we’ll tap into Thai culture, exploring a local market and participating in a hands-on cooking class where students will learn to prepare authentic Thai dishes.
Days 3–5 – Scuba Training + Certification 🌊
This is where the real work begins.
Students will start their PADI Open Water Certification, beginning with pool training to learn the fundamentals of scuba diving. Then we’ll move into the ocean for multiple open-water dives along the Ao Nang Coast.
By the end of this experience, students will earn their official scuba certification—a lifelong skill.
Day 6 – Ocean Conservation in Action
Today, students step into the role of environmental leaders.
They’ll learn how to:
Restore and repair coral reefs
Safely remove debris from the ocean
Monitor reef health
Then they’ll apply what they’ve learned during guided dives that support real conservation efforts.
Day 7 – Marine Life + Shark Experience 🦈
Travel to the Phi Phi Islands to explore vibrant reefs and learn about marine life, including shark conservation.
Students will snorkel in these waters and contribute to real-world research by helping collect data used in global monitoring efforts.
Day 8 – Adventure + Exploration
Push your limits with a rock climbing experience on Thailand’s famous limestone cliffs—designed for all skill levels.
Later, visit local landmarks and explore the Krabi Night Market for food, culture, and shopping.
Day 9 – Cultural Immersion (Koh Klang Island)
Spend time in a traditional island community and experience daily life in Southern Thailand.
Activities may include:
Cooking with local families
Natural tie-dye workshops
Beach clean-up efforts
Exploring the island by local transportation
Students will stay overnight in a homestay for a fully immersive cultural experience.
Days 10–11 – Leadership + Give Back
Bring everything full circle.
Students will lead activities and share what they’ve learned with local youth—focusing on environmental awareness and connection to nature.
We’ll close out the experience with a final celebration and reflection with the group.
On the final day, students will head to the airport for their journey home—leaving with new skills, global perspective, and unforgettable memories.
