Last Updated: July 3, 2026

Learning to Live Movement Inc. ("LTL," "we," "us," or "our") is a nonprofit organization committed to protecting the privacy of the students, families, donors, and partners we work with. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the special care we take with information from minors.

By using our website or participating in our programs, you (or your parent/guardian, if you are under 18) agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

From students/participants: name, age/date of birth, school, email address, phone number, emergency contact information, health/dietary/accessibility information relevant to travel or program participation, passport/ID information needed for travel

From parents/guardians: name, contact information, consent forms, payment or sponsorship information

From donors and partners: name, organization, contact information, donation history

Website usage data: pages visited, browser type, device information, collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools

Program content: photos, videos, and testimonials collected during trips or events (only used with consent, as described below)

2. Parental Consent for Minors

Because our programs serve high school students, some information is collected directly from participants under 18. We require verifiable parental or guardian consent before collecting personal information directly from a minor or before a minor participates in any LTL program, trip, or online form. Consent forms will specify what information is being collected and how it will be used.

Parents/guardians may:

  • Review the personal information collected about their child

  • Request corrections or deletion of their child's information

  • Withdraw consent for future data collection at any time (this may affect their child's ability to participate in certain programs)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at bwillis@learningtolivemovement.com.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Plan and administer travel programs, workshops, and fellowships

  • Ensure participant safety (emergency contacts, medical/dietary needs, accommodations)

  • Communicate with participants, families, and partners about programs

  • Process donations and sponsorships

  • Share program updates, newsletters, and impact stories (with consent for any identifiable stories, photos, or videos of minors)

  • Comply with legal, grant, and nonprofit reporting requirements

4. Photos, Videos, and Testimonials

We may photograph or record participants during programs and trips for use in marketing, fundraising, and educational materials. We only use identifiable images or stories of minors with explicit parental/guardian consent, obtained through a signed media release. Parents/guardians may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us; we will remove the content from future materials to the extent reasonably possible.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We may work with:

  • Payment/donation processors** (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, Squarespace Payments) to handle donations and program payments

  • Email marketing platforms** (e.g., Mailchimp, Flodesk) for newsletters and updates

  • Analytics and advertising tools** (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel) to understand website traffic

  • Travel and program partners** (airlines, hotels, homestay hosts, certification bodies like PADI, tour operators) as necessary to deliver our programs

These providers have their own privacy practices, and we encourage families to review them.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies to remember preferences, understand visitor behavior, and support advertising for fundraising and program outreach. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser or our website's cookie banner.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • Program and travel partners necessary to deliver a trip or workshop safely

  • Service providers who support our operations (payment processors, email tools)

  • Grant funders or partner organizations, in aggregated or anonymized form, for reporting purposes

  • Legal authorities, if required by law or to protect the safety of a participant

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to administer our programs, meet grant/legal reporting obligations, and maintain donor and alumni relationships, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, especially information relating to minors, from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

10. Your Rights and Choices
